Royal Mail Strike information

Royal Mail Strike Will Affect Orders from PSU

Please be advised that the upcoming strikes planned by Royal Mail staff in August and September will effect postal orders being collected from Porsche Spares UK Ltd.

When placing orders around the dates listed below, please make sure you make your order well in advance, to avoid your parts being delayed by the strike action. You can also select one of the DPD options for delivery if your order is urgent, as these services will be unaffected by the Royal Mail strike.

We'll do everything in our power to make sure that there are no delays to deliveries, but on the affected days there will be no Royal Mail trucks sent to PSU HQ to collect parcels or letters.

When is the strike happening?
Members of Royal Mail's Operational team have given notice that they will strike on:
Friday 26 August,
Wednesday 31 August,
Thursday 8 September and Friday 9 September

All strikes will start at 4am and last for 24 hours.

How will this affect orders from PSU?
There will be no collections from Royal Mail of letters and parcels on the days of strikes, as laid out below.

Collections will take place as normal on Thursday 25 August, but will not be occuring on Friday 26 August which is a strike day. Saturday collections will then resume on 27 August.

There will be normal collections on Tuesday 30 August, but no collections on Wednesday 31 August, due to the strike. Collections will then resume as normal on Thursday 1 September when the next recovery period begins.

Between Thursday 1 and Sunday 7 September collections will be handled as usual, as striking staff have arranged for a 'recovery period'.

The strike then resumes on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September, which will mean no collections on those days, but they will resume on Saturday 10 September as normal.

What are Porsche Spares UK doing to minimise disruption?
We'll be making sure that as many orders as possible which come through where the customer has selected Royal Mail as the delivery option are sent out ahead of the strike dates.

We will also be collecting up any Royal Mail orders during the days affected by the strike, and making sure they're all ready to be collected by the staff at Royal Mail as soon as the 'recovery period' is in effect and collections resume.

DPD delivery options will be unaffected by the Royal Mail strike, and so may be a better option if your order is urgent.

We recommend that you place your order well in advance, to avoid your parts delivery being delayed by the strikes.

Will deliveries also be affected?
During the periods affected by the strikes, Royal Mail will be attempting to deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked24 parcels as they can.

Special Delivery parcels will be delivered as a priority during the strike days, but the usual 1pm guarantee from Royal Mail will be suspended in the short term, and deliveries cannot be guaranteed. There is also no guarentee that Tracked 24 parcels will be delivered in this time, but Royal Mail have said they'll do their best endeavours.

Parcles which are sent by Royal Mail via means other than Special Delivery or Tracked 24 will be held until the recovery periods begin.
